Meg Floyd is an instructor at Krieg School, based in Tampa Bay, FL. She has been involved in HEMA since 2007. She holds a B.A. in history from the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg. By day she works as a research manager for a top communications firm, and by night she spends her time creating HEMA newspapers. Her writing background includes contributing writing to language for both world leaders and Fortune 500 companies, articles published in the St. Petersburg Times, and contributing to a peer-reviewed scientific publication during her time at the U.S. Geological Survey. Her primary weapons of study is longsword, and her manual of preference is the 16th century manual written by German master Joachim Meyer.
Meg created The Sword, which originally started as a funny Facebook meme for friends, and has since turned into a platform for HEMA outreach worldwide. The Sword led to the creation of HEMA News, intended to be a more serious journalistic endeavor to bring the good word of HEMA to people everywhere.
When not promoting HEMA, Meg spends her time reading, working out, and working on whichever novel she’s currently procrastinating on.
